Prague, Czech Republic—The Czech National Women's Ice Hockey Team announced today the appointment of All-American, Julianne Vasichek as their program's strength and conditioning coach.

"We could not be more thrilled to have a coach with Julianne's winning history, and commitment", said Czech Women's Development Director, James Craig.
Born in Montana, USA, Vasicek, age 28 currently runs the strength and conditioning program at the North American Hockey Academy (NAHA) in Vermont, USA.

"I know a lot of the Czech players and think they really deserve a great coach like Julianne. I really think she will make an immediate and very positive impact with their team" said Team USA U18 player, Amanda Pelkey who currently attends NAHA.

Vasichek was formerly the strength coach at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) where she helped that team achieve two national NCAA Division I titles.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science from UMD in 2005, and a Master degree in Education from UMD in 2007.
Prior to her return to UMD in 2008, Vasichek spent a year as assistant women's hockey coach at Bowdoin College in Maine, USA.

As a player Vasicek was known as a tough defenseman who achieved women's hockey NCAA All-American two times, as well as being named twice as All-WCHA.
Vasichek scored 77 points in her university career (11 goals and 66 assists), numbers that still rank her as the third-highest scoring defenseman in UMD history.

In 2003–2004 she was a member of Team USA's Senior and U22 Women's Teams.
